11th November 2018 sees the hundredth anniversary of the Armistice that brought the First World War to an end. At St Oswald’s we will be marking this historic date in several ways:
8 a.m. Holy Communion: A quiet service using the traditional words of the Book of Common Prayer
10 a.m. All Age Eucharist: A child friendly service where people of all ages will join in reflective activities on the 100th anniversary of Armistice Day
11 a.m. Act of Remembrance
6.30 – 7.15 p.m. The candlelit church will be open for silent prayer/reflection and the lighting of candles in remembrance and for peace.
At 7.05 p.m. our church bell will ring, joining with bells across the land as the 100th Anniversary is marked.
